About Annamalai University- The Annamalai University was established in the year 1929 by the munificence and single minded devotion of the foresighted and noble hearted Philanthropist and patron of letters, the Hon’ble Dr.Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar of Chettinad, Kt, L.L.D, D. Litt. Since then, during the seventy-six years, the Annamalai University has grown into a premier, Unitary and residential teaching university.

Annamalai University today comprises 48 departments of study including Engineering and Technology. It is a four star level University which is recommended by NAAC.

DDE of Annamalai University established in 1979 offers hundred and twenty six different programs of study under the regular stream and the open University system. In the direction of research, the DDE has offered Hotel Management and Catering Technology Programs in India.
